When Toninho Garcia got free in front of the goal in the 7th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Pompiliu Comarnescu was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Pompiliu Comarnescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Washington Furtado in the 11th minute of the match. Davi Tande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niculae Perșa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of RED BLUE STAR booed when CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Răcănel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's zone, Ferdinand Pociu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davi Tande came out of the goal and Ferdinand Pociu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 46th minute Toninho Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pompiliu Comarnescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Washington Furtado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute of the match, Niculae Perșa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Davi Tande saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ferdinand Pociu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Davi Tande made a huge save. In the 115th minute of the match Vintilă Ilie sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Davi Tande skillfully saved the ball. In the 116th minute, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Jean Quintal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pompiliu Comarnescu. Pompiliu Comarnescu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the RED BLUE STAR players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA.
