Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnas Užkuraitis in the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of Wolves booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Nilmar Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Leonas Mažeika tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnas Užkuraitis in the 35th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnas Užkuraitis to make the kick off. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolás Roche's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. A collision led to Wolves getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kasım Uluer hit a great ball. Leonas Mažeika took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute, Arnas Užkuraitis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Dovydas Aleknius dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-2. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Borys Weyna sent off a good shot on target. 70 minutes into the match, Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Leonas Mažeika reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dacian Socoriceanu kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. If Arnas Užkuraitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonas Mažeika saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Wolves was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnas Užkuraitis to maneuver through the defense. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Wolves to win.
