Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niklas Bäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niklas Bäck in the 10th minute of play. Thames Ironworks FC's Dick Melander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dick Melander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Francisco Carballar hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Melander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Dick Melander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Guillermo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickard Nilsson in the 52nd minute of the match. 53 minutes into the game, Valter Vibjörnsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thames Ironworks FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chile the free kick. After 53 played minutes Thames Ironworks FC got a freekick which was hit by Valter Vibjörnsson. Dick Melander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 56th minute. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Torgny Forsman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Niklas Bäck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. 75 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Torgny Forsman came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yngve Wennerquist who took care of the corner kick. Gösta Granström made a great header on Thames Ironworks FC's corner, it was just that Chile's Thiago Pliego managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dag Mårtensson during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. The goalkeeper, Dick Melander, was totally fooled by Chile's Mariano Lacasa, who 84 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
