Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Wu Cheng De sent off a good shot on target. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 17th minute of play. After having played for 19 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Sigmund Tutorskiy reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dante Lacasa. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 27th minute, Stavros Forakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romos FC's Ovidiu Cosâmbescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Wu Cheng De kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Nicu Slavici hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luisão Romero was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alberto Tafalla hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Ovidiu Cosâmbescu threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Romos FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Gabriel-Alejandro Cristian hit a great ball. In the 56th minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ovidiu Cosâmbescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 58th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ovidiu Cosâmbescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Joel Gaona slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ovidiu Cosâmbescu. That made the score 2-2 after 60 minutes of play. With a little luck, Romos FC's Ovidiu Cosâmbescu got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Romos FC's goalkeeper Ovidiu Cosâmbescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Romero in the 67th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wu Cheng De in the 69th minute of play. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xande Gatin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wu Cheng De, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Sigmund Tutorskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Lautaro Mancebo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lautaro Mancebo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 82nd minute of play. Ovidiu Cosâmbescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute Luisão Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
