Tomas Berganza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio de Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. If Mathias Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Sérgio de Azevedo in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sérgio de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fernando Tavares in the 19th minute of the match. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Abraham Alguacil hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Ros. Régis Marinho took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Berganza got free with Sérgio de Azevedo in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. BMB IMOVEIS SC's Sérgio de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 31st minute of play. If André Luiz Vides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sérgio de Azevedo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Berganza showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 43 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. After 63 played minutes BMB IMOVEIS SC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fernando Tavares. Sérgio de Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the game, Abraham Alguacil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Sérgio de Azevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sérgio de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 89th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in BMB IMOVEIS SC's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio de Azevedo came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
