In the 10th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Gamus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Caricancha booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Stathis Gisgakis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stathis Gisgakis really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Amado Gamus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Stathis Gisgakis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 25th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Gamus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caricancha's goalkeeper Amado Gamus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Cosmas Simbolon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Gamus having to interfere. Julian Menendo charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julian Menendo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Caricancha's Julian Menendo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stathis Gisgakis in the 60th minute of play. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Caricancha's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. Astor Senio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Amado Gamus. Caricancha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 82nd minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Astor Senio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Caricancha's Stathis Gisgakis suffered a sore foot after 85 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Venegas during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes Caricancha got a freekick which was hit by Simon Llorenc. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caricancha fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
