Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xiao Jian Bo in the 16th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Liu Zhou Feng. Los Galacticos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Los Galacticos booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Liu Zhou Feng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liu Zhou Feng having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Liu Zhou Feng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Liu Zhou Feng made a huge save. Liu Zhou Feng made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kong Jing Kun in the 64th minute of play. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. After 67 played minutes Los Galacticos got a freekick which was hit by Xie Yue Chao. Los Galacticos's Ruben Le was substituted for Xie Yue Chao. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xiao Jian Bo in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Xiao Jian Bo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Luis Andino made a precise shot to the right of Liu Zhou Feng. Los Galacticos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liu Zhou Feng having to interfere. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador played a much better game than Los Galacticos and deserved their victory. The Los Galacticos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
