Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Nikos Sterpis took the kick off in the first half of the match. Akis Sarafis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikos Sterpis in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. In the 11th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akis Sarafis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 12 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats. Michelangelo Merganiotis took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Ajax's goalkeeper Akis Sarafis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Akis Sarafis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Akis Sarafis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 33 minutes AFC Ajax's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Emmanuel Reyes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Akis Sarafis quite easily take care of the ball. After 35 minutes AFC Ajax's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
