Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hayden Burley who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 4thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In a very dangerous position, a player in Stewe fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! Stewe:s Carel Van Hermenghem showed great skill when he stopped Tomas Illescas:s penalty. Carel Van Hermenghem didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Endre Austnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stewe the free kick. The supporters of Stewe booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martial Vrijdag went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Carel Van Hermenghem came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 39th match minute, Stewe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamar Delong to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Endre Austnes made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Stewe's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carel Van Hermenghem came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carel Van Hermenghem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 56th minute. 57 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Endre Austnes came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Endre Austnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Endre Austnes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stewe's supporters rose to their feet, but Endre Austnes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Endre Austnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Patricio Costa fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Carel Van Hermenghem, passed just outside the right post. Carel Van Hermenghem made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carel Van Hermenghem saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carel Van Hermenghem breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 95 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa.
