Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Província were awarded a corner. Gregório Pepetela went to the cornerflag to take it. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alda Nascimento went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Arlindo Bueno hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sebastián Dikaté in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vice Alilović got free with Julio Vera in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Província's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gregório Pepetela in the 16th minute. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when Província's Sebastián Dikaté fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vice Alilović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Caneças showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Vice Alilović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evaristo Ramos hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the match, Província's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Paulo Caneças reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Província's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastián Dikaté was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Caneças made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Saelices in the 39th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Caneças having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Caneças breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Caneças having to make a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastián Dikaté stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Paulo Caneças didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Paulo Caneças made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vítor Quilempan during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vítor Quilempan kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Paulo Caneças tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vice Alilović in the 68th minute of the match. Paulo Caneças didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Montenegro went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Caneças. Paulo Caneças dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Gregório Pepetela lost his temper 77 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Província:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Daniel Zorita shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 83 minutes into the match, Província's goalkeeper Paulo Caneças had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Caneças was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 92nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Província throughout the match.
