Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vinicio Bermudo got the match started through his kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vinicio Bermudo in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Romeu Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 9th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Nuno do Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Bermudo in the 14th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Bermudo in the 17th minute of play. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guararapes's Romeu Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 19th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno do Nascimento in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno do Nascimento in the 30th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno do Nascimento scored 0-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 37 minutes into the match, Guararapes's goalkeeper Romeu Guedes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Romeu Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 57th minute of the match Guararapes got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ragıp Işık ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Ragıp Işık almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno do Nascimento in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Guararapes's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romeu Guedes came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Pedro Cardozo struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guararapes. After some careless play in the Guararapes defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Romeu Guedes. The Guararapes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Romeu Guedes should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Guararapes's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Romeu Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romeu Guedes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th match minute, Guararapes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tenorio Urrue to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Rencio got free with Julio Vera in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. When José Pedro Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Guararapes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro Cardozo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Guararapes booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Guararapes to win.
