Caio Ceresso scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Panama's Tomas Berganza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rafael Loyola. That made the score 1-1 after 13 minutes of play. Tomas Berganza scored 2-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rafael Loyola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 20th minute Fernando Vinhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Werneck FC - DMZ's Rafael Loyola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Werneck FC - DMZ from getting a goal against them. Rafael Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Miralles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abraham Alguacil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Rafael Loyola made a huge save. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd match minute, Werneck FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Ceresso to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After having played for 53 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Zézinho Severo got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 72nd minute of play forced Werneck FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Rafael Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy Favoretto came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Sarmiento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Loyola having to make a save. In the 81st minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Werneck FC - DMZ's Fernando Vinhas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 85th minute, Tomas Berganza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After a defensive mix-up in Werneck FC - DMZ's zone, Isidoro Sarmiento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Loyola came out of the goal and Isidoro Sarmiento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Werneck FC - DMZ's Rafael Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 96th minute of play.
