An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 18th minute of play forced AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Teodosio Iigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pedro Manzanares firmly grabbed it by the left post. 48 minutes into the match, Tom Hermansson notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 5-4 when Tom Hermansson sped through Colombia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. In the 83rd match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Tafalla to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Tom Hermansson made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-4.
