The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A sloppy throw-in by Raul Vigil in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Ritchie in the 8th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Arif Ozan Oğuztan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Arif Ozan Oğuztan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Raul Vigil in the 22 minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Arrecifes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! In the 27th minute, Julian Murillo made a precise shot to the right of Arif Ozan Oğuztan. Arrecifes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The throw-in from Raul Vigil in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 35 minutes into the match, Arrecifes's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Arif Ozan Oğuztan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arrecifes's Cadfan Cornell was substituted for Carlos Eufrasio. Rolando Noboa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Modesto Gipuzkoa. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arif Ozan Oğuztan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 68th minute of play. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pantelis Christopoulos in the 69 minute of the game. Felipe Senon's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rolando Noboa firmly grabbed it by the left post. 77 minutes into the game, Eliseo Mina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Arif Ozan Oğuztan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Arrecifes's Arif Ozan Oğuztan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 79th minute of play. Peru made a substitution. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Mina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arif Ozan Oğuztan. Arrecifes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Rafael Gallo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafael Gallo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arif Ozan Oğuztan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that Peru were the better team. Peru's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
