Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 8 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Santa María in the 9th minute of play. Teo Roano hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Bueno in the 22nd minute of the match. Dan Cambridge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cauan Favoretto. 30 minutes into the match, Santiago Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Dan Cambridge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Dan Cambridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 35th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dan Cambridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 40th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Cambridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Cambridge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lorenzo Santa María to strike the kick off in the second half. Santiago Futebol Clube's Dan Cambridge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute Lorenzo Santa María shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dan Cambridge having to make a save. Santiago Futebol Clube's Dan Cambridge proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Santiago Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cauan Favoretto in the 67th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dan Cambridge was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. If Cauan Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Santiago Futebol Clube's Francisco Zanette was substituted for Nico Bueno. In the 81st minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Cauan Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Cauan Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lorenzo Santa María went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
