Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dursun Ali Mensur having to interfere. Ertan Tunalı's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ertan Tunalı helped the player get up and apologised. Ertan Tunalı kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SEFEROĞULLARI's goalkeeper Dursun Ali Mensur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, SEFEROĞULLARI's Lefter Seferogullari dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. With an all-out effort, SEFEROĞULLARI's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Basri Kuddus, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 38 minutes, Tomas Illescas made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. SEFEROĞULLARI's Dursun Ali Mensur tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Lefter Seferogullari kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Yaşar Sefercik managed to get in a good position for a shot. SEFEROĞULLARI's supporters rose to their feet, but Yaşar Sefercik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SEFEROĞULLARI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dursun Ali Mensur. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. The SEFEROĞULLARI players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
