Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. With a little luck, Olympique Deleon's Kléber Lira got control of the ball when Axel Tasis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Célio Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute Augusto Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Azevedo in the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Mathias Rossi made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Kléber Lira came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa. But to his dismay, Eliseo Noboa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Kléber Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kléber Lira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

51 minutes into the game, Alan Moruga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympique Deleon the free kick. In the 51st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Augusto Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympique Deleon's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Varela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sydney Motta fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Deleon's protests and gave Sydney Motta a yellow card for diving instead. Sydney Motta hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 63 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. A hard shot by Célio Azevedo from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Benito Sanz's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 67th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Alcocer to maneuver through the defense. Abelardo Galvão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. When Hugo Ferrant fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Hugo Ferrant a yellow card for diving instead. Mathias Rossi struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympique Deleon. Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Alan Moruga off the ground. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Kléber Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
