João Brites didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Mira Sintra's Amauri van Beek in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 13th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Brites was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Wendy Irama got a throw-in 18 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Aldaír Madureira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play forced Mira Sintra's goalkeeper João Brites to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Brites made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 26th minute of play. João Brites showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of the match. A collision led to Mira Sintra getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Wendy Irama hit a great ball. In the 33rd match minute, Mira Sintra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Canor Posse to maneuver through the defense. Claudemiro Peixoto's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudemiro Peixoto helped the player get up and apologised. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Vicente Taveira kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Amauri van Beek made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Amauri van Beek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute of the match Mira Sintra got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wendy Irama ran over to the corner to take the kick. 55 minutes into the game, one of Mira Sintra:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 57 minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of João Brites. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri van Beek in the 60th minute of play. After 66 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but João Brites made a huge save. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mira Sintra's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Brites having to interfere. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Mira Sintra made a substitution. Éder Couto replaced Vicente Taveira. The supporters of Mira Sintra booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montenegro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Éder Couto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 88 played minutes, Mira Sintra's Claudemiro Peixoto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mira Sintra reached it. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amauri van Beek in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mira Sintra throughout the match.
