Kim Åkesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Magnus Glad to strike the kick off in the second half. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Kim Åkesson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Kim Åkesson in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 77 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Jofurs Drängar's Kim Åkesson. Kim Åkesson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. When Camilo Gisbert fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Camilo Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty! When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jofurs Drängar throughout the match.
