The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tanek Dziechciowski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. In the 13th minute of the match, Tanek Dziechciowski got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 16 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edvaldo Tande made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Edvaldo Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of play. If Tanek Dziechciowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tanek Dziechciowski got free with Julio Vera in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tanek Dziechciowski in the 52nd minute of play. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the game, Tanek Dziechciowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvaldo Tande didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by 蔡银镇 during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Edvaldo Tande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Tanek Dziechciowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. If Tanek Dziechciowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Socanelas FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
