The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benito Pacorro went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Correa in the 14th minute of play forced U21 Totoras F.C.'s goalkeeper Epifanio Valery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. The supporters of U21 Totoras F.C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gaos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense.
