The referee ignored U21 Totoras F.C.'s protests and gave Tadeo Evarado a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when U21 Totoras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeo Evarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Epifanio Valery was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 14th minute of play forced U21 Totoras F.C.'s goalkeeper Epifanio Valery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epifanio Valery came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Pacorro in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, U21 Totoras F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Epifanio Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Epifanio Valery made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alo Hurt was the one to do the kick off. Epifanio Valery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 51st minute of the match. Agustín Saelices scored 0-2 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Epifanio Valery, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 57th minute, Alo Hurt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. U21 Totoras F.C.'s Epifanio Valery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Epifanio Valery made a huge save. 66 minutes into the match, U21 Totoras F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Epifanio Valery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Epifanio Valery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Epifanio Valery in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeo Evarado in the 76th minute of the match. U21 Totoras F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernando Polo in the 78th minute. Felix Montes thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Julio Vera, a very annoying self made goal in the 78th minute which led to 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfréd Marton in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 85th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. The corner led U21 Totoras F.C.'s Fernando Polo to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Epifanio Valery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 94th minute of play. After 96 minutes U21 Totoras F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Totoras F.C..
