In the 10th minute of the match, Tadeusz Pracki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Emil Scobioalã managed to get in a good position for a shot. UFC Puturoasa's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Scobioalã was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 22nd match minute, UFC Puturoasa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Griceanu to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emil Scobioalã in the 35th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Alberto Salgado was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th minute, Sandu Musteatã made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emil Scobioalã to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Scobioalã came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led UFC Puturoasa's Gheorghe Streche to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Alberto Salgado. Eugen Doroftei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. UFC Puturoasa's Emil Scobioalã got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. UFC Puturoasa's Alphonso Davies was substituted for Vladimir Griceanu. Carlos Alberto Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Sandu Musteatã managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UFC Puturoasa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandu Musteatã was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Emil Scobioalã's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Scobioalã, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
