Itacaruaré FC's Gilberto Dacio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 20th minute of play. Gilberto Dacio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of the match. Gilberto Dacio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Candido Platon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Candido Platon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. If Eriberto Ledesma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Itacaruaré FC's Marciano Garcia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Itacaruaré FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Laureano Kemen hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marciano Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After 45 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Itacaruaré FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Gilberto Dacio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. With a little luck, Itacaruaré FC's Gilberto Dacio got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute of the match, Cristian Sancho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gilberto Dacio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 55th minute Laureano Kemen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eriberto Ledesma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute of the match Nunez Alonso sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Gilberto Dacio made a huge save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marciano Garcia in the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Itacaruaré FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Candido Platon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Gilberto Dacio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Itacaruaré FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
