When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Orlando Casaus sped through Florida United's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gabriel Ibar. In the 35th minute Ruperto Amato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Bållström in the 37th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Bållström in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Chile's Gerardo Pozo got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute of the match Ruperto Amato shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thiago Pliego showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Mark Bållström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mark Bållström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. In the 54th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ibar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Bållström. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Tamayo in the 58th minute of play forced Florida United's goalkeeper Gabriel Ibar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Ibar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chile's Alan Tamayo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abel Branco, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Gabriel Ibar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Chile's Alan Tamayo got a free kick in the 70th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nuralp Eracar got free with Thiago Pliego in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guillermo Fontirroig didn't quite understand what happened when in the 98 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet.
