Cosme Piorno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 37 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filomeno Goren tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Cosme Piorno. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 40th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as TLAMET Y TLASAK 100PRE's Delmiro Estebano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 2-1 after 44 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Everardo Benino to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Panama's Tomas Berganza got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Filomeno Goren's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 71st match minute, TLAMET Y TLASAK 100PRE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Goren to maneuver through the defense. When Rigoberto Cordeal was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. The supporters of Panama booed when TLAMET Y TLASAK 100PRE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Cordeal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th minute of the match, Miguel Miralles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cosme Piorno saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A well-hit corner resulted in Miguel Miralles heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play.
