Arturo Christobal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Arturo Christobal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. András Tóth came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 12th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's András Tóth did a great save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Christobal in the 14th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without András Tóth having to interfere. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julian Chaime who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arturo Christobal went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 37 minutes into the match, StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's Luckas Baert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. András Tóth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 38th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 42 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Christobal, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luckas Baert to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18 got a freekick which was hit by Dionisio Hug. András Tóth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's goalie and right to Cristian Sancho. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After a rather tough play, StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's Delmiro Valente got a free kick in the 55th minute. StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's András Tóth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute Arturo Christobal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luckas Baert in the 71st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Arturo Christobal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Arturo Christobal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After having played for 75 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Hug in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but András Tóth made a huge save. Luckas Baert took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 82nd minute Luckas Baert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Chaime in the 84th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18's goalkeeper András Tóth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luckas Baert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 92 minutes, Dionisio Hug mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18 and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dionisio Hug to maneuver through the defense. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The StarwarsNoAbandona9-12-18 players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
