The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Torsten Dahlquist was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Gudmundsson in the 24th minute of the match. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. If Jan-Erik Skoog had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had been going on for 39 minutes, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Torsten Dahlquist. Alekärr IF's Torsten Dahlquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Villa in the 43rd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Honduras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Ståle Stolpe scored to the left of an out of position Lautaro Navarro, making the score, 1-2. Axel Gudmundsson hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Villa in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torsten Dahlquist saved Alekärr IF from getting behind. When Ulf Svensson fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alekärr IF's protests and gave Ulf Svensson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Honduras booed when Alekärr IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulf Svensson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Moises Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torsten Dahlquist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alekärr IF's Jan-Erik Skoog in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 78th minute of play forced Alekärr IF's goalkeeper Torsten Dahlquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Alekärr IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Edmundo Espiga took the corner. After 80 minutes, Emanuel Ocampo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Honduras and the Alekärr IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Ocampo. In the 81st minute, Jan-Erik Skoog left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alekärr IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The supporters of Honduras booed when Alekärr IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ståle Stolpe didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Moises Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmundo Espiga scored 2-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Torsten Dahlquist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Honduras manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Alekärr IF to win.
