Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Anestis Tzougarakis scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-1. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anestis Tzougarakis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play forced PAOK's goalkeeper Markos Bibis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Daniel Zorita put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Markos Bibis. 24 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Markos Bibis. PAOK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Markos Bibis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute, Felix Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by PAOK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Markos Bibis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Markos Bibis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of the match. PAOK's Anestis Tzougarakis got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to PAOK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Aimilios Eleftheriadis hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, PAOK's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Markos Bibis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Markos Bibis in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Cristian Sancho to fire away a dangerous shot which Markos Bibis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Anestis Tzougarakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. After 62 played minutes, PAOK's Giorgos Tomaras shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PAOK reached it. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 64thth minute tested the skills of Markos Bibis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 65 minutes PAOK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After 69 played minutes PAOK got a freekick which was hit by Aimilios Eleftheriadis. After 71 played minutes PAOK got a freekick which was hit by Aimilios Eleftheriadis. 76 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of PAOK's Markos Bibis. Markos Bibis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vassilis Tsartsalis kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The long shot by Daniel Zorita in the 84th minute really tested Markos Bibis's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, PAOK's Isidoros Saloufidis got a free kick in the 85th minute. Markos Bibis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Nasos Patakos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
