The tension between the Costa Rica and the Alekärr IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ståle Stolpe in the 14th minute of play. Joar Sundin hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ture Brander during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Alekärr IF's Ture Brander got a free kick in the 21st minute. Axel Tasis came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Torsten Dahlquist could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Alekärr IF's Ulf Svensson got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 33 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig. The corner ended in Axel Gudmundsson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. Axel Gudmundsson's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Benito Sanz - 0-3 was put on the score board in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Torsten Dahlquist in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ståle Stolpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Axel Gudmundssons short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alan Moruga got his second yellow card in the match during the 52nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 53 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ståle Stolpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 70th minute, Jan-Erik Skoog ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Axel Gudmundsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alekärr IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. In the 85th minute Ståle Stolpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Erik Skoog in the 88th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Alekärr IF booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Torbjörn Smefeldt came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
