The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Carballo during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Costa Rica were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd match minute, FC Kurdish Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fredric Kilberg to maneuver through the defense. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Jonsson having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 59th minute. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Allan Jonsson. That made the score 2-2 after 68 minutes of play. Stig Danielsson kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 74 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the FC Kurdish Warriors players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Allan Jonsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. Aaron Alcocer got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 87 minutes of play, FC Kurdish Warriors's Jarl Häger made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Kurdish Warriors had played much better football throughout.
