The Commandos's Dumitru Moraru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save The Commandos from getting a goal against them. When The Commandos's Fondas Papadogiannakis in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. If Daniil Kleomenis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Thanos Kalfakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dumitru Moraru having to interfere. In the 25th minute, The Commandos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Patricio Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dumitru Moraru made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. 33 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dumitru Moraru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 34 minutes The Commandos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dumitru Moraru quite easily take care of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dumitru Moraru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thanos Kalfakis to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Paris Braoudakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Commandos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 53 played minutes The Commandos got a freekick which was hit by Paris Braoudakis. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dumitru Moraru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dumitru Moraru was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fondas Papadogiannakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The Commandos's Grigoris Sourmelis was substituted for Thanos Kalfakis. In the 75th minute, Fondas Papadogiannakis made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in The Commandos's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dumitru Moraru came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Grigoris Sourmelis made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 93rd minute, Manos Papakostas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
