Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorn Krommert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roger Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Alexander Houtman kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. With a little luck, Overschie's Niek Kiewit got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 18 minutes into the game, one of Overschie:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Niek Kiewit had in the 21stth minute some difficulties stopping Felix Montenegro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 24th minute Ruud Koning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 28 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Palacio got free with Niek Kiewit in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luz Palacio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Niek Kiewit came out and tried to block the shot, but Luz Palacio slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 33rd minute. Jorn Krommert scored 4-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 41stth minute of the game Roger Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Overschie's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ivo Bosz hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruud Koning in the 64th minute of play. In the 68th minute Luz Palacio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niek Kiewit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorn Krommert in the 70th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Overschie got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ruud Koning kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 96 minutes Overschie's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felix Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 96th minute of the game. One of Overschie:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Niek Kiewit had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Felix Montenegro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 98 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Niek Kiewit. Overschie's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. When the referee ended the match the Ecuador players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
