After 8 played minutes FC Klavertje Vier got a freekick which was hit by Lelo Orihuela. In the 15th minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zabulón Carabajal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 34th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Luca Zorita heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Mancebo's late challenge caught a FC Klavertje Vier's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Mancebo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute Joery Hylen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celedonio Kemen in the 51st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Zabulón Carabajal threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iwan Marchefka in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute Iwan Marchefka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zabulón Carabajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Klavertje Vier made a substitution. Claude Montens replaced Joery Hylen. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celedonio Kemen in the 71st minute of play. Zabulón Carabajal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Klavertje Vier's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zabulón Carabajal came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Klavertje Vier made a substitution. Pierre Gebuers replaced Iwan Marchefka. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claude Montens in the 82nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Klavertje Vier's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Zabulón Carabajal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mexico were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing FC Klavertje Vier to leave the ground with a draw.
