The audience thought a goal was coming when Thanos Kalfakis got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes in the game, Thanos Kalfakis dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After 29 played minutes The Commandos got a freekick which was hit by Dimitris Tsirigidis. Fondas Papadogiannakis struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Commandos. In the 34th minute Paris Braoudakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Thanos Kalfakis sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, The Commandos's Sokratis Tsardikos got a free kick in the 40th minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thanos Kalfakis in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, The Commandos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sokratis Tsardikos to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in The Commandos's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dumitru Moraru came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dumitru Moraru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's attentive Salvador Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Sokratis Tsardikos made a throw-in in the 62nd minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thanos Kalfakis went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 67th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 70th minute, Antti Ariva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the game, Paris Braoudakis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Commandos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After a rather tough play, The Commandos's Paris Braoudakis got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpected shot in the 73rd minute by Tomas Illescas got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 76 played minutes The Commandos got a freekick which was hit by Antti Ariva. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Illescas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigoris Sourmelis in the 90th minute of the match. In the 90th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Guillermo Mariano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dumitru Moraru. The Commandos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. The Commandos fully deserved thier win.
