When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jörgen Bjurström made a kick off. Valentino Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Marc Juhlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Marc Juhlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Moises Fernandino in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ove Hake saved Nils Liedholm IF from getting behind. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Birger Kleen sent off a good shot on target. Moises Fernandino struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Ove Hake didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 63rd minute of play forced Nils Liedholm IF's goalkeeper Ove Hake to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Birger Kleen's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
