Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Doctor Strange started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percy Fernandez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Percy Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Pedro Manzanares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Axel Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Percy Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Colombia booed when Sport Clube Recife was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Tardelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reginaldo Brodel hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute, Colombia's Kevin Mastache ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Percy Fernandez. Percy Fernandez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Sarmiento got free with Percy Fernandez in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Penha in the 60th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Penha in the 61st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the game, Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Penha in the 65th minute of play. With a little luck, Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez got control of the ball when Pascual Carballar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gualter Penha scored 3-2 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Lampard in the 78th minute of the match. Sport Clube Recife's Pablo Lampard managed to work through Colombia's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Pablo Lampard dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 87th minute, Doctor Strange made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. Reginaldo Brodel kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Dong Yang Bang hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 91stth minute of the game Ignacio Mastache who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Secada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sport Clube Recife had played much better football throughout.
