Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Jarana FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 6th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Tadeo Distiratsu. Jarana FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Jarana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joop Deswarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Jarana FC's Wilfredo Gitano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Wilfredo Gitano took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Tadeo Distiratsu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. Tadeo Distiratsu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeo Distiratsu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Wilfredo Gitano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Gitano in the 52nd minute of the match. Marciano Christobal hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Felix Montenegro had several of the Jarana FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 54 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-2 score and a disappointed Tadeo Distiratsu as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 61 played minutes Jarana FC got a freekick which was hit by Yang Yao Kuan. In the 66th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute Wilfredo Gitano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarana FC were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Yang Yao Kuan took the corner. In the 73rd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tadeo Distiratsu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Wilfredo Gitano sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. 80 minutes into the match, Jarana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tadeo Distiratsu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Camilo Gisbert made in the 81st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cristian Sancho immediately put the ball in play. In the 82ndth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jarana FC's Tadeo Distiratsu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jarana FC's goalie prevented a goal.
