Everardo Bidun was slow to take the kick. During this time Xeneizes's players had a chance to rest. Everardo Bidun made a great header on Xeneizes's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. 27 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Fulgencio Peru sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The audience was convinced that Fulgencio Peru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 91st minute of the match Xeneizes got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fulgencio Peru took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1.
