Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Doctor Strange got the match started through his kick off. In the 7thth minute of the game Gualter Penha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Peru's Rolando Noboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Percy Fernandez made a huge save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Lampard in the 11th minute of play. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Percy Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doctor Strange in the 20th minute of play. With a little luck, Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Milagros Fraga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Percy Fernandez made a huge save. In the 25th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Sport Clube Recife's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Percy Fernandez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 26 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Lampard came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A collision led to Sport Clube Recife getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Remo Carvalho hit a great ball. In the 29th minute of the match, Milagros Fraga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Percy Fernandez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Marco Tardelli threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Percy Fernandez made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. The throw-in from Marco Tardelli in the 40th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. In the 42nd minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Percy Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pablo Lampard hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

In the 51st minute, Marco Tardelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Julian Murillo sped through Sport Clube Recife's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Percy Fernandez. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milagros Fraga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Peru's Alonso Berganza to fire away a dangerous shot which Percy Fernandez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovani Medeiros during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sport Clube Recife's Geovani Medeiros got a free kick in the 64th minute. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Doctor Strange came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Remo Carvalho made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Delfim Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. A sloppy throw-in by Pablo Lampard in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Clube Recife's zone, Rafael Gallo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Percy Fernandez came out of the goal and Rafael Gallo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Gualter Penha made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Gallo in the 91st minute of play. Sport Clube Recife's Rain Bow got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Eliseo Mina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Percy Fernandez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Sport Clube Recife's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
