After 17 played minutes Preator Edikt got a freekick which was hit by Fryderyk Gorzkiewicz. 20 minutes into the match, Preator Edikt's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Jan Pihlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horia Tătaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Horia Tătaru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Horia Tătaru really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 34th minute of play forced Preator Edikt's goalkeeper Jan Pihlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 42 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Fellipe Vianna hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Stig-Ove Blomqvist made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the match, Preator Edikt's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Jan Pihlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Gaona scored 1-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan Pihlberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
