The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 28 played minutes, IRAKLIS's Alketas Kontodimos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in IRAKLIS reached it. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Miltiadis Liakos took a quick shot and it went in 4-2 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play forced IRAKLIS's goalkeeper Iakovos Perivolakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chinomso Zelarayan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iakovos Perivolakis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miltiadis Liakos in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Salvador Gisbert was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave IRAKLIS the free kick. Salvador Gisbert hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Chinomso Zelarayan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chinomso Zelarayan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-2. There was no doubt that IRAKLIS were the better team. IRAKLIS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
