Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Geronimo Caton came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Magrina kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Abram Luque struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Manuel Macerio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Salvador. After 29 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Lohitzun in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the game, Valentino Ferrant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cosmos Urquiza the free kick. In the 32nd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentino Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Geronimo Caton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Roberto-Carlos Kakatsios in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant. Manuel Macerio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Cosmos Urquiza's Geronimo Caton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Delfino in the 61st minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geronimo Caton got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Zorita was a little too slow when Arnoldo Lohitzun got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 0-3. A hard shot 69 in the game by Geronimo Caton from a close distance when the talented Ricardo Zorita managed to make a qualified save. El Salvador's players were relieved. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Valentino Ferrant hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Ricardo Zorita successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Cosmos Urquiza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Lohitzun didn't get a good kick on the ball.
