In the 8th minute, Anderson Paiva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pedro Manzanares. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 14th minute, Axel Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Augusto Quintal. Várzea F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Quintal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. Luiz Eduardo Alcântara made in the 23rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 25 minutes into the game, Santino Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Carlos Augusto Quintal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Rogério Saldanha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Várzea F.C.'s Marcos Roberto got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Carlos Augusto Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Marcos Roberto kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Anderson Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. 44 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s Anderson Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Jude Monkhouse ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Anderson Paiva to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Anderson Paiva came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 53rd minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anderson Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Jude Monkhouse hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Carlos Augusto Quintal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 57th minute of play. Anderson Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Jude Monkhouse notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anderson Paiva in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. In the 70th minute, Anderson Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Várzea F.C.'s Daniel Isăceanu was substituted for João Francisco Tande. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Montenegro in the 73rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luiz Eduardo Alcântara was slow to take the kick. During this time Várzea F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Várzea F.C.'s Carlos Augusto Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Abram Secada came free, but Carlos Augusto Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dé Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anderson Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Várzea F.C.'s Anderson Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Várzea F.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
