The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Milagros Cabal a yellow card for diving instead. Milagros Cabal kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Etxeberri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Bras came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 minutes, Sebastian Villa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Honduras and the San Fernando Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of San Fernando Eagles booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Navarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Christian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Saul Etxeberri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

San Fernando Eagles's Eustacio Perfecto was substituted for Santos Confesor. Saul Etxeberri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. If Marcial Bras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. When Moises Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Tafalla couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saul Etxeberri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Moises Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Saul Etxeberri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 74th minute, Edmundo Espiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Sebastian Villa took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Saul Etxeberri to make any attempt to save it. Saul Etxeberri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Tafalla in the 87th minute of the match. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Saul Etxeberri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saul Etxeberri having to interfere.
