With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Roberto Castro in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 6th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Castro in the 6th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tostão Arantes having to interfere. Zé Roberto Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardinho Carioca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 19th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Arantes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bogdan Olejarz in the 21st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Czar Sporting's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jerônimo Salgado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 34th minute Czar Sporting were awarded a corner. Zé Roberto Castro went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Marcial Laurin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Remo Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tostão Arantes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Roberto Castro made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Czar Sporting's Ulryk Trzaskoma got a free kick in the 56th minute. Ricardinho Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Roberto Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulryk Trzaskoma kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Czar Sporting's André Luís Leal was substituted for Ricardinho Carioca. After 68 played minutes Czar Sporting got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Nunes. Czar Sporting's Tostão Arantes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Czar Sporting from getting a goal against them. When Zé Roberto Castro fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Czar Sporting's protests and gave Zé Roberto Castro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Czar Sporting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Roberto Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Czar Sporting booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Leal in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Czar Sporting.
