The supporters of Atletico Lula booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Moruga made a great header on Costa Rica's corner, it was just that Atletico Lula's Lukáč Jančich managed to reach the ball for a save. If Mateo Mergildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Atletico Lula's Lukáč Jančich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the game, Mateo Mergildo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 21 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Mateo Mergildo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atletico Lula. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. Atletico Lula's Lukáč Jančich proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Lula from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute, Lautaro Puig reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lukáč Jančich. The goal made the score 1-1. In the 34th minute, Mateo Mergildo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Puig scored 2-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lukáč Jančich, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 45th minute, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lukáč Jančich. Lukáč Jančich yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Atletico Lula's Mateo Mergildo. But to his dismay, Mateo Mergildo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 64th match minute, Atletico Lula was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Žigmund Kaminský to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Atletico Lula's Mateo Mergildo got a free kick in the 66th minute. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. Ján Rudolf kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Efrain Moruga hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. If Mateo Mergildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 81st minute, which inside left pole to 3-4. After 84 minutes, Lautaro Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Atletico Lula players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bar Scully kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa scored 4-4 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lukáč Jančich, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 92nd minute of play forced Atletico Lula's goalkeeper Lukáč Jančich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Petreje kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When Axel Tasis fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Axel Tasis a yellow card for diving instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
