The Benknotorna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Moruga during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Efrain Moruga hit a great ball. Kurt Bure took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Benknotorna's Arvin Ekerot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Johan Vall had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Johan Vall was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. The wind increased when Kurt Bure made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, Benknotorna's Geraldo Trullols made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Arvin Ekerot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Alexander Carballo hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Geraldo Trullols got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 74th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 76 minutes, Kurt Bure managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Benknotorna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Bure was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geraldo Trullols sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gustav Siöberg went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Benknotorna had played much better football throughout.
