An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 10th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Álvarez's goalkeeper Eriberto Enol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roberto Enriquez. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Miguel Ángel Hvalica capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Miguel Ángel Hvalica really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 24th minute of the match Miguel Ángel Hvalica sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Miguel Ángel Hvalica tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Miguel Ángel Hvalica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Hvalica, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexis Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Enriquez in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Miguel Ángel Hvalica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Enriquez in the 71st minute of play. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportivo Álvarez's Miguel Ángel Hvalica. But to his dismay, Miguel Ángel Hvalica quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexis Santos in the 81st minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Hvalica in the 83rd minute of play. Juan Hvalica took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. 88 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Cambeiro came free, but Eriberto Enol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eriberto Enol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Juan Hvalica sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Deportivo Álvarez fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
