Bradley de Nooijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev. But to his dismay, Ruslan Dzhalev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13thth minute of the game Axel Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ren Yan Qing hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Santino Seco took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Georgi Velinov. Georgi Velinov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 22nd minute of the match, Santino Seco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Georgi Velinov saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ahmet Refik Ülgü might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Refik Ülgü ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Roderigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnulfo Roderigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Axel Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Montenegro couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute Ruslan Dzhalev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 40th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Ruslan Dzhalev notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Colombia's Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half FC CSKA were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Refik Ülgü was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, FC CSKA's Georgi Dimitrov ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Ahmet Refik Ülgü took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Ahmet Refik Ülgü tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Roderigo in the 64th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as FC CSKA's Ruslan Dzhalev slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 2-6 after 67 minutes of play. The supporters of FC CSKA booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Mastache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombia's Luis Cazalla managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Arnulfo Roderigo in the 91 minute of the game. The supporters of FC CSKA booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kevin Mastache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Asparuh Genovski showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-8 in the 93 minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC CSKA had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
